Privacy Policy — Enigma Chronicles

This Privacy Policy describes how Enigma Chronicles (“the App”) handles information when you use it. It is published here for reference and for linking from App Store Connect where a privacy policy URL is required.
Note: This document reflects how the App is built as of the date above. It is not legal advice. Have a qualified attorney review it before you rely on it, especially if you add analytics, ads, accounts, or a backend server.
1. Summary
- The App is designed as a single-player detective / puzzle game. It does not require you to create an account with us.
- We do not operate our own login server for the App. Progress and preferences are stored on your device and, if you use the feature, synced through your Apple iCloud account (see below).
- Analytics in the current version are logged on your device (system diagnostic logs) using opaque game identifiers (for example, case IDs and node IDs)—not your name, email, or contact list. We do not receive this data on our servers unless we later integrate a third-party service and update this policy.
- Purchases are processed by Apple via the App Store; we do not receive your full payment card details.
- If you use Game Center, Apple receives certain gameplay-related information according to Apple’s policies.
- If you choose a profile photo from the camera or photo library, that image is used only on your device for display in the App (stored locally as a file in the App’s documents area), unless you also sync other data via iCloud as described below.
2. Information the App processes
2.1 Game progress and settings (local)
The App stores game progress, save slots, settings (such as audio and accessibility preferences), in-game currency balances, achievements, case completion state, and similar data on your device using standard iOS storage (for example, files in the App’s sandbox and UserDefaults where applicable).
Case star ratings you submit in the App are stored locally on the device (not sent to our servers in the current version).
2.2 iCloud sync (optional)
If you are signed in to iCloud and the App’s iCloud capability is enabled for your build, the App may sync save data (save slots and related files) to your personal iCloud container so you can restore or continue progress across your own devices.
- That data is processed under Apple’s iCloud terms and privacy policy, not on servers we operate.
- You can manage or disable iCloud for the App in Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Apps Using iCloud (wording may vary by iOS version).
2.3 Game Center (optional)
If you sign in to Game Center, the App may submit scores (for example, number of cases completed and investigation points) to Apple’s Game Center for leaderboards you see in the App.
Apple’s collection and use of that information is described in Apple’s Privacy Policy and Game Center documentation. We do not receive your Apple ID password.
2.4 In-app purchases
Purchases are handled by Apple. Apple provides us with information needed to validate transactions (for example, that a purchase occurred). We do not receive your full card number from Apple.
2.5 Camera and photo library (optional)
If you allow access, the App uses the camera and/or photo library only to let you set a detective profile image. That image is saved locally on your device (for example, as a JPEG in the App’s documents directory). We do not upload that image to our servers in the current version.
You can change or revoke photo/camera access in Settings → Enigma Chronicles on your device.
2.6 Diagnostics and errors (local)
The App may log errors and events to the device’s unified logging subsystem (os_log) for debugging and quality. In the current implementation, these logs are not automatically transmitted to us. If we add remote crash or analytics tools in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, the App’s privacy disclosures in App Store Connect.
3. What we do not do (current version)
Unless and until we say otherwise in an updated policy and in the App:
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not require you to register an account with us to play.
- We do not knowingly collect special categories of sensitive data through the App beyond what you voluntarily provide (such as a photo you choose for your profile).
4. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age required in your jurisdiction to consent to data processing without parental permission. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have inadvertently received personal information from a child through a future service (for example, a support email you send us), contact us at the address below and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
5. Retention and deletion
- On your device: Uninstalling the App may remove locally stored data subject to iOS behavior and any data left in iCloud if you used iCloud sync.
- iCloud: You can remove or overwrite synced documents through Apple’s iCloud and device settings.
- Game Center / purchases: Retention is subject to Apple’s policies and your Apple ID settings.
6. Security
We rely on Apple’s platform security for storage on the device and for services such as iCloud, Game Center, and the App Store. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we encourage you to keep your device software updated and use a strong Apple ID.
7. International users
If you use the App outside the country where Irie Development is based, your information may be processed on your device and, where you use Apple services, on Apple’s infrastructure in accordance with Apple’s terms. Consult a qualified advisor if you need region-specific disclosures (for example GDPR / UK GDPR lawful basis and representative).
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Effective date” at the top. If changes are material, we may also provide notice inside the App or on the App Store listing, as appropriate.
